Session Title: Data Science Projects: Agency and Creativity in a Math Class

Description: We will showcase the evolution of a data science class co-created with practitioners (at San Mateo Union School District) and researchers (at CourseKata.org, Cal State LA and UCLA). Data science projects are a key component of the course design to give students the opportunity to apply what they have learned to explore their own research questions. These data science projects were iteratively designed and improved based on student performance and feedback.
