Description: This session speaks to the current work in progress between HBCU University of the District of Columbia education, health and social work department with the District of Columbia Council of Teachers of Mathematics where both parties have entered into partnership as part of a national working group to inform local practice and long-term partnership work with the shared goal of supporting equity and whole child-centered mathematics teaching and learning in DC by working to create and support a pipeline mentorship and strong math placements through professional learning communities between researchers, professors, education candidates, and current K-12 math practitioners. The session will speak to the current national working group process and progress, the pilot work and response in the district, and the first two phases of rollout being considered.
